FROM BRAZIL TO A GLOBAL CAREER
Artur completed his degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Maria in Brazil. During his studies, he was awarded a scholarship through the „Science without Borders“ programme, which allowed him to study for a year and a half at the University of Manitoba in Canada. This international experience gave him insight into different engineering methods and widened his understanding of the field.

STARTING WORK AT FEV
After finishing his degree, Artur started working at FEV in Brazil. His first job was in engine testing, focusing on base calibration for the Electronic Control Unit and testing engine durability. He stayed in this role for almost three years. Later, Artur moved into a more technical position, setting up new test benches for clients. He was responsible for creating or updating the equipment needed for testing, from scratch or by improving older setups.

MOVING TO GERMANY FOR BATTERY TESTING
In 2021, Artur decided to relocate to Germany and joined FEV’s German division, where he worked on testing batteries for electric vehicles. His job was to test the durability and how the batteries performed in different environments. Although it was a good learning experience, Artur realised that battery testing wasn’t what he wanted to focus on.

JOINING DEEPDRIVE TO FOCUS ON ELECTRIC MOTORS
In 2022, Artur found a role he was excited about at DeepDrive, where his focus is on testing electric motors. He first learnt about us through Gabriel Tatsch, our System Engineer, with whom he had studied and worked in Brazil. As part of the Testing Infrastructure team, his job is to make sure the motors are tested properly, using the right tools and setups. His work ensures that we can test motors in-house, guaranteeing they meet our standards for efficiency, durability, and performance. Artur enjoys the fast pace and quick changes at DeepDrive, as it gives him the chance to learn and adapt quickly.

WORKING AT A GROWING COMPANY
What Artur finds most rewarding about DeepDrive is the teamwork and the opportunities to make a real impact. Even though the company is growing fast, everyone helps each other when needed, and there’s a strong sense of working towards a shared goal. With us, Artur appreciates that he can take responsibility for many parts of a project, which is very different from his experience in larger companies where tasks were more specialised.

LIFE OUTSIDE OF WORK
Artur loves being active. In Brazil, he played basketball and enjoyed climbing. Now, living in Germany, he spends his free time cycling around the city and hiking in the mountains on weekends. These activities help him balance the high-speed environment of his work with relaxation and outdoor fun.
