A practical path to e-mobility: Meet Julian Nusko

EARLY CAREER AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING
Julian began his career at EFG Gienger as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant in 2015. His first significant role was in logistics, where he managed compound processing, coordinating the movement of goods between different locations. After this, Julian took on the responsibility of preparing and implementing SAP systems within the quality team, ensuring that existing processes were adapted to the new system.
Julian then moved on to work in sales at Gienger Logistik. However, his curiosity and ambition led him to join SISTEMS, the startup where he gained hands-on experience in a wide range of business operations, including accounting, purchasing, sales, and marketing. During this time, he also began studying for a business administrator course at the IHK, which he successfully completed in September 2023, becoming a certified business administrator IHK, equivalent to a Bachelor of Professional.
DISCOVERING E-MOBILITY AND JOINING DEEPDRIVE
Julian’s interest in e-mobility was sparked during a previous job where he had the opportunity to experience Tesla’s electric vehicles firsthand. This fascination grew, and when Felix, our Co-founder and Co-CEO, contacted him via LinkedIn, Julian was immediately interested in DeepDrive, a young company with promising technology in the e-mobility sector.
ROLE AT DEEPDRIVE AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Currently, Julian works in purchasing at DeepDrive, focusing on the In-wheel operation. He manages the sample phase for in-wheel tooling, sourcing all necessary parts, and coordinating with suppliers to meet deadlines and specifications. Julian enjoys the fast-paced, ever-changing environment at DeepDrive, where flexibility and quick adaptation are essential. He finds the technical aspects of his work, from MOSFETs to inverters, incredibly fascinating, noting how even the smallest components can significantly impact the overall system.
FUTURE OUTLOOK AND TEAM SPIRIT
Julian is excited about the future growth of DeepDrive’s purchasing department and the company’s upcoming projects. He values the strong team spirit at DeepDrive, where everyone shares a common vision and works together closely. He is eager to see how the company’s growth will shape the evolution of its departments and what new possibilities and opportunities this will bring.
PERSONAL INTERESTS
Outside of work, Julian enjoys spending time outdoors. His hobbies include cycling, hiking, walking his dog, and swimming. These activities not only keep him fit but also help him recharge, bringing balance to his role at DeepDrive.
