A PRACTICAL START IN AUTOMOTIVE MECHANICS
Nils began his career with an apprenticeship as an automotive mechanic, training for three and a half years before continuing in the field at Autohaus Moser, where he worked for a total of eight years. During this time, he carried out vehicle repairs, servicing, and diagnostics, gaining extensive hands-on experience with mechanical systems and problem-solving in a workshop environment.
Looking to expand his skill set, he moved into sales and customer management at WM SE, where he spent two years. His first year was office-based, assisting customers with orders and advising them on parts and components. In his second year, he shifted to external sales, focusing on acquiring new customers and managing their ongoing needs.
JOINING DEEPDRIVE AND WORKING IN PRODUCTION
Nils first heard about DeepDrive through his long-time friend Maxi, whom he knew from the Scouts. When Maxi mentioned that the team was looking for skilled people in production, Nils saw an opportunity to apply his mechanical expertise in a new environment.
Since joining DeepDrive in August 2024, he has been part of the sample shop, where the team builds prototypes for customers, prepares components for internal testing, and supports test setups for the test bench and emulator. His role also involves improving production processes, ensuring that tools and components are smoothly integrated into workflows. When challenges arise, he works on solutions that help streamline operations and improve efficiency.
For Nils, the collaborative nature of the production team is a key part of the job. While his role does not involve frequent interaction with the engineering department, he values the communication and teamwork within his team, which helps ensure that everything runs efficiently.
LIFE OUTSIDE OF WORK
Outside of DeepDrive, Nils enjoys going to the gym, reading, and playing chess. He also values time spent with friends and appreciates the social culture within the company. He has taken part in team events such as the carnival party and Christmas celebrations, enjoying the opportunity to connect with colleagues outside of work. Even when last-minute work was needed for the Audi project, he found the experience rewarding.
