DeepDrive’s journey has been marked by innovation, ambition, and the drive to achieve the extraordinary. At the heart of this journey is Pit, an engineer whose belief in realistic and impactful innovation has shaped his path with DeepDrive.

THE INITIAL ENCOUNTER WITH DEEPDRIVE

Pit’s introduction to DeepDrive was deeply rooted in his time with TUfast, TU Munich’s student motorsport team. It was during this period that DeepDrive became a buzzword among many, primarily because its founders had established their connection while being a part of TuFast almost a decade ago. Later, when Pit delved deeper into DeepDrive’s aspirations, he discovered its initial vision to create a comprehensive platform. While he admired the ambition, he was skeptical about its execution for a nascent company. However, his doubts were put to rest when he witnessed DeepDrive’s adaptability, as they streamlined their focus solely on motor development. Recognizing the potential in this new direction, Pit was inspired to be a part of their journey.

A DEEPER DIVE INTO THE AUTOMOTIVE WORLD

Cars have always fascinated Pit. At DeepDrive, this passion finds a deeper purpose. The opportunity to delve into the intricacies of the automotive industry and understand it from the inside out is a dream come true for him. Beyond just a job, DeepDrive offers Pit a platform where he can merge his hobby with his profession, leading to a richer understanding of both.

FROM THEORY TO PRACTICAL INNOVATION

Pit’s contributions at DeepDrive go beyond standard engineering tasks. His work on adapting the DeepDrive Dual-Rotor Technology to a central drive system is particularly innovative due to the limited existing literature, pushing the team into new territories of hands-on innovation and learning. Collaboration becomes essential, with team members frequently coming together to brainstorm and tackle challenges. A standout project for Pit is the rotor carrier initiative. This groundbreaking effort involves press-fitting a steel rotor into an aluminum rotor carrier, a process not previously seen in electric motors production. The complexity of this project showcases the innovative spirit of DeepDrive and Pit’s dedication to pushing boundaries.

TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK

Pit often raves about the incredible bond everyone shares at DeepDrive. It’s like a lively mix of young spirits, shared dreams, and a common goal. For him, it’s not just about working; it’s about working with friends, making every day special. And it’s not just any friends. Zoé, our Mechanical Engineer, is actually his best buddy. Plus, many of his old pals from the TuFast days are either already making waves at DeepDrive or are gearing up to jump on board soon. It’s this blend of work and friendship that makes DeepDrive more than just a workplace for Pit.

LOOKING TOWARDS THE FUTURE

Pit’s vision for DeepDrive is clear. He sees a future where DeepDrive’s motors power vehicles worldwide. More than just a professional goal, it’s a personal dream, and every day at DeepDrive brings him one step closer to it. Pit is saying: “One day, I’d like to confidently point at a car and say: This car is powered by DeepDrive.“

PIT’S ACADEMIC ROOTS

Pit was born and bred in Luxembourg, where he received foundational specialization in technology. This early education set the stage for his subsequent studies in Germany. He pursued mechanical engineering at TUM and further deepened his passion for cars by specializing in the automotive industry during his master’s program. Choosing Munich, a hub for automotive innovation, complemented his academic trajectory. With DeepDrive located in this dynamic city, it perfectly aligned with his career aspirations.
