Integrating knowledge and practice: Meet Polina Fefelova

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Polina started her academic career at the Technical University of Munich, where she earned a Bachelor’s in Management and Technology, with a focus on Informatics. She continued to expand her knowledge, and she’s now about to graduate from her Master’s degree at TUM. Polina got a technical specialisation in Power Engineering and a management focus on Entrepreneurship & Finance.
EARLY CAREER EXPERIENCE
Polina started at PwC as a student consultant, where she spent two years contributing to consulting projects and creating industry trend reports, particularly in mobility solutions. She later joined Deloitte’s Audit and Assurance department, where she gained valuable experience in financial audits and evaluating internal control systems. Polina recently helped get the student-led TUM.RE off the ground, and since then, it has merged with TUM Green Tech. The goal of these initiatives is to promote renewable energy projects and make the net zero energy transition more accessible to students by connecting them with industry leaders.
JOINING DEEPDRIVE
Polina joined DeepDrive because she was excited to work in a young, dynamic company. She wanted to experience a fast-paced environment where adaptability is key. At DeepDrive, she appreciates the flat hierarchy and the chance to take on more responsibility, giving her a deeper understanding of the company’s operations.
Polina works in the Operations team with Rainer. Her focus is currently on the improvement of the project management organisation and tools. She is implementing a structured project management methodology for projects such as our In-wheel and Central Drives to improve processes and accountability. This is crucial for DeepDrive, where long-running projects require a high level of coordinating and communicating between different engineering teams. In addition, Polina has been involved in setting up the knowledge management framework on Confluence and in the creation of an efficient and scalable process framework.
COMPANY CULTURE AND FLEXIBILITY
Polina thrives in DeepDrive’s dynamic culture, which is characterised by an energetic team and a flexible work environment. She finds it really inspiring to see the company grow and loves the fact that she can chat directly with anyone on the team, regardless of position. The responsibility she holds lets her dig into various topics to get a good grasp of the details and communicate her insights.
PERSONAL INTERESTS
Outside of work, Polina likes to stay active by going to the gym and jogging in Olympic Park and other green areas. She’s always up for an adventure, whether traveling to new corners of the world or exploring Munich’s surroundings, from leisurely strolls and getaways in nature to visits to exhibitions, museums, and theatres.
